These general terms and conditions apply to all consultations, treatments and aftercare provided by Looks Clinics (Chamber of Commerce no. 74662910), established at Dokter Stolteweg 88, 8025 AZ Zwolle, the Netherlands, with a clinic in Amsterdam (Nijenburg 73) and an intake location in Rotterdam. 1. Applicability
1.1 These terms apply to every appointment and every treatment agreement between you and Looks Clinics. The Dutch Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO) also applies to the care we provide.
1.2 By making an appointment or undergoing a treatment, you confirm that you have read these terms. We draw your attention to these terms when your treatment is scheduled.
1.3 Deviations apply only if we have agreed them with you in writing.
2. Introductory consultation and cooling-off period
2.1 The introductory consultation is free of charge and without obligation. During this consultation one of our doctors assesses whether a treatment is suitable for you and discusses the procedure, the risks, the expected recovery and the costs.
2.2 For some treatments, such as ptosis correction, a consultation at the clinic is required; an online introduction is then not sufficient.
2.3 There is always a cooling-off period of at least one week between the consultation and the treatment. During this period you may decide not to go ahead, without giving reasons and without any costs.
2.4 The doctor decides whether a treatment is medically justified. Looks Clinics may refuse or postpone a treatment if the doctor considers this necessary, for example for health reasons.
3. Cancelling or rescheduling appointments
3.1 If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as early as possible and no later than 2 working days in advance, by telephone or by email (info@looksclinics.nl).
3.2 The introductory consultation remains free of charge, even if you do not attend. We do appreciate timely cancellation so that we can offer the time to another client.
3.3 If you cancel a treatment later than 2 working days in advance, or do not attend the treatment, we may charge a fee of up to € 150 for the reserved surgery time. In cases of force majeure, such as illness, we will look for a suitable solution together with you. We do not charge for check-up appointments; we do ask you to reschedule them in good time if you are unable to attend.
3.4 Looks Clinics may reschedule an appointment if unforeseen circumstances make this necessary, for example illness of the doctor. We will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a new date. In that case you are not entitled to compensation.
4. Prices and payment
4.1 Current prices are listed on our rates page. The price of a treatment includes the introductory consultation, aftercare and the associated check-ups, unless stated otherwise. Prices include VAT where applicable.
4.2 Looks Clinics is a non-contracted healthcare provider. You pay for the treatment yourself: by debit card on the day of treatment, or in advance by bank transfer. You receive an invoice which you may submit to your health insurer if you wish. Whether and how much your insurer reimburses depends on your policy; we cannot make any commitments about this.
4.3 If you do not pay, or do not pay on time, we will send a reminder. If payment is still not received, we may charge statutory interest and reasonable collection costs.
4.4 Price changes do not apply to treatments that have already been scheduled and confirmed.
5. The treatment and aftercare
5.1 Our doctors perform the treatment in accordance with the professional standard and the applicable guidelines. Looks Clinics has an obligation to use best efforts, not an obligation to achieve a particular result: the doctor does what is reasonably possible, but the outcome of a medical or cosmetic procedure differs from person to person and cannot be guaranteed.
5.2 You are required to inform the doctor correctly and completely about your health, medication, allergies and previous treatments. Incomplete information may affect the treatment and your recovery.
5.3 You follow the instructions before and after the treatment, such as cooling, rest, keeping the wound dry and attending the check-up appointments. Our recovery app and the written instructions help you with this.
5.4 If you experience symptoms after the treatment that do not fit the normal recovery, please contact us immediately. Outside opening hours, follow the instructions you received at the time of treatment.
5.5 The aftercare and check-ups included in the price are intended for recovery after the treatment performed. Any additional treatment is discussed with you and quoted separately.
6. Records, photographs and privacy
6.1 We keep a medical record and retain it for the statutory period. Photographs we take for your record form part of that record.
6.2 We use photographs for other purposes, such as our website or social media, only if you have given separate written consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time.
6.3 How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
7. Liability
7.1 Looks Clinics is liable for damage resulting from an attributable shortcoming in the care provided, within the limits of the law and of our professional liability insurance.
7.2 Looks Clinics is not liable for damage arising because you provided incorrect or incomplete information or did not follow the instructions before and after the treatment.
7.3 Looks Clinics is not liable for damage to or loss of personal belongings at the clinic.
8. Complaints and disputes
8.1 If you are not satisfied, we would like to hear from you. Please discuss your complaint first with your doctor or with our complaints officer. How this works is explained in our complaints procedure.
8.2 If we cannot resolve the matter together, you may submit your dispute to De Geschillencommissie Zorg (the Dutch Healthcare Disputes Committee), to which Looks Clinics is affiliated.
8.3 Dutch law applies to these terms and to the treatment agreement.
9. Changes
Looks Clinics may amend these terms. The version in force at the time your treatment is scheduled applies to your treatment. The current version is always available at looksclinics.nl.
